Home Servicing of a 2012 2.2 litre Puma

Is there a service manual available electronically so I know what the intervals are and what needs to be done? I have tried various internet searches but couldn't find anything for a 2.2 litre.

Also, just wondered who else does all their servicing and is it especially difficult? My other car is a Series IIA and I do all the servicing on that so I'm not a complete novice with a spanner.

    Thanks

Someone will be along shortly with how to find the manual.. I think you can buy it from the aulro shop on a "rave" cd.

I service my own 2012 2.2l 90 and prior to that hadn't worked on a vehicle before.

If you use the aulro search function down the bottom you can type in anything service related and there will be literally hundreds of pages of how to service your car.

We are lucky there is qualified mechanics on here who offer their advice.

    servicing your defender

    Hi guys,

I have been looking after my TDi for about 15 years.

Unlike the Tdi, the modern engine I wouldn't touch except to change the oil/filter and the air filter, I know my limitations there.

But the gearbox/ TC/diffs oil changes you'll be able to manage.

Brake fluid changes maybe the xperts should do, since you have ABS, TC, etc.

I recommend you get to know your hubs/ wheel bearings etc. its fairly straight forward to serve them.

I'd start with the hubs, diffs and gear box services.
The local landrover club will have a lot of experienced guys willing to offer advice etc. cheers simmo

Somewhere on here is the Puma service schedule

    And here it is
    6http://www.defender2.net/forum/post146692.html

This assumes normal use aka Chelsea/Urban so if you a doing a modicum of dirt/sand/4WD you need to half oils/filters etc.
I certainly wont be waiting 200,000 km for some of the lubes.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
