Best $120 I have spent so far

My halogen headlights have left me underwhelmed. Not sure about a bullbar at this stage so I needed an interim measure to improve the lighting. Found this:
32inch 300W Curved Philips Spot Flood LED Work Light BAR SUV Offroad Lamp 30" | eBay 32inch 300W Curved PHILIPS Spot &Flood LED Work Light Bar SUV Offroad Lamp 30"
Knocked up some brackets that mount behind the front grill & protrude through as per another post somewhere....The curve exactly matches the curve of the grill & the bar does not protrude beyond the bumper.

For distance, it does not come close to spots but lights up the world for the first 100m more than adequately & completely drowns the halogen lights. I did not notice any difference in radiator temps during the last 1000 km traveled while towing but then it hasn't been above 30deg.

Looks good.Something I would like once I get a roof rack.
Beware the temp gauge,as far as I know its a computer generated thought bubble like the D2.Unless you are using an OBD reader to get the temperature.

    Hi Milton
Do you have any pics of the brackets or how you mounted them? I miss my old light bar from my D2 and even though I have xenon they aren't as good as the light bar for closer distances.
What about vibrations? Does the bar move/vibrate around much? And lastly, where did you mount the light switch?
    Thanks
    Dave.

Sorry, no pics of the brackets. They are "T" shaped & mount to existing holes in the radiator mounting. Once through the grill, I had to make 2 "L" shaped brackets that mount on the first 2 to accommodate the width of the bar. Everything was made from 5mm flat bar. There is a small amount of vibration on corrugations but quite acceptable for me. The switch is called a mouse switch I think & is double sided taped to the dash next to the headlight switch.

These pictures do not do the lights justice: I need to find a quiet patch of highway where the difference is more noticeable & I can stop & take photos.

    Low beam:

    High beam, no light bar:

    High beam with light bar:

    Gday Harry,

Can you give us some pointers on how you fitted it like that, that looks awesome and is 1 of the best ideas I have seen for a light bar yet.

    Cheers Ean
