Hello Guys
It is now already a bit to long ago. I bought for our big trip a McNamara Difflock. That is almost 3 years ago. We are still travelling but we never could use the difflock (or better never had to). What I did was changing the rubber thing in the activator (diaf.....things). I'm glad to read in your forum that JackMac is what of the best and customer service wasn' t to bad until a year ago. Jack even promised a new activator . Promised as I said. Since then not a lot .
Now it seams I have to help myself. Has anybody of you the vaccum activated typ (Salisbury axel rear)? Did anybody had trouble? And what did you do against it?
Thanks for your help
Daniel

Well, that would be the way I will do as soon as I'm home again. At the moment it is a bit hard to get something without an adress. On the other hand is Jack willing to send me some more rubberthings, but I'm not willing to change them all 1000 km to be sure my difflock is working.
But I will keep trying. In the meantime I just like to find out if there are more people with brocken rubberthing and why it happend and what they did against it.
Thanks anyway
best wishes from Salta, Argentina
Daniel
If you can get Jack to send what you need to Buenos Aires, I have a mate who lives there. He's a long time Land Rover owner having owned a couple of Series IIAs from the late 60's until earlier this year when he moved from Queensland to Argentina.
Charlie and I have been friends since we first met on 20th Jan 1965 (I remember the date as it was my birthday) when we both started work as trainee technicians with OTC.

Oh dear, it's my birthday also (though not the year!)
I'm not taking you out for dinner!
I just remembered, it's my sister's birthday, too (and I'm not taking her out for dinner either).

Ok, Guys, my birthday is far from it, so back to buisness.
I won't start e-mailing jack or jeff again for parts. They will send me only this rubberthing (plenty of them). I would rather like to know what is wrong. I imagine it pretty unpleasent to stick in kneedeep mud and to find out my difflock needs a change of this rubberthing.
But it seems there are only happy JackMac difflock driver around in australia. :?
Best wishes from Argentina
What is this rubber thing?
