Help please....Leaking fluid from 2002 td5...

Hi everyone,

2 days into trip getting to start of tag along Simpson trip. We've done about 1500km since Sat and it is very cold, not sure if that affects anything. There is fluid (water? Tastes sweet but it is dark outside so not sure what colour) is leaking (see photo), I hope the photo has attached!

At Broken Hill, if anyone knows where we could take it to.

It's coolant.
Find a Bearing company (CBC) ask for 2 of the following part number: BS225 Viton.

Undo the clamp, pull the end out and clean and replace orings. Lube new orings and refit end cap then clamp.

Bleed cooling system and top up If necessary.

I found when I did mine that most worm drive clamps are too wide for the narrow slots in the housing. If you buy the special tool for the OEM clamps , there is no problem. I think mine cost $19.

The kit that I bought had 2 Orings of a slightly different size, and there is a second groove in the end plate to fit a second Oring.

I used the extra Oring as I theorised that the extra Oring would reduce "jacking" of the end plate into the body, and so far it has been 3 years without any leak.
