300 tdi front wheel bearing seal.

Almost finished changing both front wheel bearings and looking for the latest thoughts on setting the seal. Does it sit 4mm below or flush with the fine lip protruding above?

seems to be a couple of thoughts on dr google. My manual is not specific.

    Thanks in advance.

My seal had 3mm written on it but as long as it doesn't protrude past the hub it should be fine.

300 tdi front wheel bearing seal.

Use the axle drive flange as a tool to knock the seal in. Just drive it in until the flange hits the hub and it will be nice and even and the correct depth.
I've done mine that way for years since reading it on here (thanks JC).
