    Cigarette/Aux Power socket in Dash

    Okies Folks,
I've been looking at D3's and one thing stuck in my head. Most have two ash trays side by side in the console, but one or two had two aux power sockets ...whats the deal? Options? Mods? Models?

    Cheers

Only one I know is my own HSE and it has the two sockets either side of an ashtray (used by me for coins).

I use the 2 sockets for a Bluetooth unit (eBay cheapy) and the screen for the reverse camera.

I assume the lower spec must be the two trays and one 12V socket.
    Cheers, Dale

Mmmmm, here's a random image from carsales...

    and another

But, they all seem to be HSE.

Any idea? Seems strange to have two, side by side!

    Cigarette/Aux Power socket in Dash

Mine SE MY 08 and has the extremely handy two sockets. Like a tray in between with rubber mat. Has a pocket at the back which perfectly holds iPod plumbed into the pov stereo.

I bought the rear socket from LR and fitted it myself into the back of the console. Wiring was all there (as was for the fridge)

The 'ashtray' nearest the drivers side is actually the cover of a 12V socket in both those pictures.

    You're probably right!
Had me fooled though. Here's one random from the googlesphere...

    I wouldn't have picked it.

Yes looks can be deceptive. Push it in and it folds back to reveal the cigarette lighter (aka additional 12V socket).

It's not about the trim level, but whether the "smoker's pack" was specified for the build. To remove the ashtray and lighter, and have the twin power supplies and small cubby instead is an easy and cheap change.

But then what do I do to power the 2 leads I have plugged in? And where do I store my coins???
