Todays problem is as follows

I have a fair bit of free play on the steering wheel, I have traced the dead spot back to the steering relay, the lower arm appears to be moving up down left and right all by itself.
So I started doing some research, It looks like there are a lot of opinions with these.. Fix them in place, don't loose an eye with the spring, don't use bearmach, don't use reproductions, don't use reproduction kits to fix them, sell your first born child.
Sooooooo... What the heck? where should I go what should I ask for. I saw some online from all 4x4 spares at a decent price (~200ish), but no mention of make etc.
Now i have seen the issue i'm scared i will die :P
Help me AULRO

Lots of threads on repairing them on the forum.
The aftermarket ones can have shafts that easily break hence the comments you've seen.
Until you dismantle yours you won't know what parts are needed but everything is available and there are several methods for safely dismantling & re-assembling. Hopefully the shaft is reusable and not pitted too badly.
Don't get the seals from a LR supplier, get them from a bearing shop.
$200 will probably be Bearmach/Britpart as they are about 70GBP in the UK. Problem is, will yours come out of the crossmember without too many issues ??
