    watchdog suit Discovery 4

Has anyone fitted a watchdog unit such as TM4 or similar to monitor Auto trans oil temp engine block or coolant temp loss of coolant & EGT to SDV6 in a Disco 4 ??

Google: UltraGauge. watchdog suit Discovery 4

The already detects low Coolant and displays on the info screen...

For EGTs you would need to fit pyrometers to a gauge and that would be a pita.. and completely unnecessary..

Don't know that unit but do monitor trans temp, engine oil temp and coolant temp with iiD diagnostic tool via iPhone. I thought EGTs were available as diagnostic live values too but haven't actually checked that. Could be thinking of EGR valve position ......

GAP Diagnostics IIDTool does all of this and a lot more (except perhaps loss of coolant) you can also record multiple selected data inputs, save and export files into excel. GAP software also has a very good viewer for the recorded files in built but I find you need a decent sized screen (apple or android, not windows) to work with them. As a bonus you get a tool for diagnostics if you want or need it, and some control over EAS to boot, well worth a look as opposed to some dedicated kit with limited functionality from where I see it.

Not sure where you are but I am sure someone with an IIDTool can demonstrate or look at the GAP web site.

Hi guys. Here's why I recommended the Ultragauge...

    1) it's like $70 and configurable.
    2) not having the Gap tool running all the time should extend its life...

Do you know if the Ultragauge will give me both EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) readings for a D4 3.0 TDV6?

    Cheers,
    Greg
