    Oil Extractor - option

    Hello

was just looking at new oil extractor for oil change on the 3.0 SDV6 and came across this 'eclectic' vacuum pump Garage Tuff 12V Oil Extractor - Autobarn

i have no problems with the manual pump (its more except its more expensive - but have a lot of containers around for waste and just seeing if any has used this or similar?

    Cheers

Very similar if not the same as the one I use. Works very well but the oil can't be too hot. You'll find it cheaper on ebay.

I use similar (about $70 but with a metal pump casing) and they work really well. I did all filters and oil in 45 mins in driveway the other evening. Only thing to watch (on my pump anyway) is the pressure can make the discharge tube whip around so it needs securing so as not to spray oil everywhere. I now have a cap with the correct size hole drilled into it which goes on my waste drum for the process.

I bought this one from Bunnings Selecta 12V Oil Change Pump Kit | Bunnings Warehouse
Worked well except the intake tube was a bit small so adapted a piece of larger tube to the end

I use an old 12v pump that I used on the farm 20 years ago to spot spray thistles from the bike /tractor.

only takes a minute or so and not excessive pressure either.

try an agriculture or vineyard merchandise

It's a while since I last used the hand vac pump and I've forgotten how long it takes to do the job. However it's good enough for me and really does save oil over the floor. When it's finished or appears to be done I just leave it a few minutes to allow further drain down then a few more pumps and more comes out.
Great ways of doing a simple job sometimes messy job.... think 300Tdi and oil up to the elbows and over the floor mutter mutter.
While it's vaccing I do the air filter etc. or watch the girls go by. And that's all they do these days, just walk on by.

Get a Stahlbus. Makes life so easy.
Oil change is quicker than the pump out method.
