Whispering death, the forgotten RAAF fighter/bomber

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The beaufighter is another one of those fascinating aircraft. Basically wartime improvisation: Take a bomber that is already in production, new slimmer fuselage, fit the largest available engines - result, a very successful heavy fighter and ground attack aircraft. While not as quite fast as single engined fighters of the era, it had competitive rate of climb, and far longer range and much greater firepower. And it was very rugged.
