    D4 air struts on D3

Gday All , just wondering if the air struts and shocks off a D4 fit a D3 and if there is any noticable difference if they do fit.

    Thanks and Cheers Ean

    I fitted MY09 shocks to a MY10 D4 - interchangeable! D4 shocks are firmer although MY12+ aren't quite as firm as MY10-11.

The control arms are different but I believe the shocks are the same. The bushes are the same to.

My Indie put aftermarket Delphi D3 rear shocks on my D4. They fitted OK but the valving is so soft that the car wallowed more than it did with the aged originals. I have now reverted to OEM 2012 plus shocks front and rear. However, the rear is still pretty soft to my way of thinking. Not as bad as the D3 ones though.

Keep us updated Ean if you do this update. I've got this on my to do list.

Seems the RRS front LCAs are a (heavier duty) preference also by some.

Otherwise is there any other difference between the D3 and D4 suspension?

The D4 ball joints and their angle are different to the D3 as the D4 geometry was altered to provide a lower roll centre.

So would you just automatically order the D4 LCAs and struts to get this upgrade?

Never quite understood the RRS LCA argument as what was heavier duty about them over D3?
