Installation of Outback LRT and RWC by OL

Finally decide to order those items plus GOE rim still waiting, get myself ready for the tour. Any one have any problems during the installation with OL as I know this branch hadn't done it on D4 yet? Do I need to reminder them for attention? Such as connection to main tank, RWC might trigger the sensor? Departure angle. What is your experience during the installation?

If you want a better option for a wheel carrier, rijidig off road has developed a rear wheel carrier for the D3/4 that doesn't effect the rear parking sensors.

The Outback Accessories RWC on the back of my D4 has never affected the parking sensors.

Don't know of anyone that had any problems whatsoever Gary. Just be prepared to double your fuel range=D

I have a mate who had probs. with the RWC as fitted by OL and it was bodgy manufacture which caused the carrier to lean back quite markedly. Fixed by being shimmed to correct it but it shouldn't have happened at that price.
I'll go for the Rijidig soon as the workmanship of the one I have on the Defender is first class.

To resurrect this thread .... I've just installed my Rijidij RWC and it fits perfectly. Took just a tad longer than the estimated 4hrs (x 3 actually) but that may only have been 'cos I'm old and slow and everything else the Cook tells me I am.
Worst thing is trying to get those damn eyebrow things back in over the rear wheels.......I'm getting expert assistance tomorrow.
And whoever designed the bloody stupid winder thing to lower the spare wheel wants shooting.... I suspect LR gave the job to an apprentice just like Main Roads here give junction design to new designers who love trying to reinvent things!
But overall I'm glad it's on the back not underneath as I can imagine trying to get it out when stuck in mud or sand and panicking a bit etc. which I know we shouldn't do but there ya go..... I do.

The expert assistance I sought from Darren (DazzTd5 on here) from Aztech4x4 paid off and he fitted them damn rear wheel eyebrow/mudguard things in about 10mins easy.
Now I'll know how for the next time.

An older thread but it is closest to anything I could find on the subject. I am about to install my Rijidig rwc and just wanted to clarify one point before I launch into it.
Where you cut away the foam on the under side of the bumper I presume that is the right hand side and am guessing the installation photo shows the bar flipped over end to end so what appears to be the left hand side is actually the right. Can't see any reason to cut the lhs.

Can someone clarify that for me please. I will make a start and probably give Murray a call tomorrow.

sorted, now that I have the bumper off I can see what perspective the photo was taken. Should have been a bit more patient..

Good luck Old Guy, it's a good carrier with easy installation directions... I've had 3 on various vehicles. I'm now making a hoist to lift the wheel on and off without breaking my already stuffed back. The only problem I've got with the Rijidig RWC is the locating pin at the bottom is wearing and makes it stiff to pull the unlocking handle up. There's a ridge worn into the pin and no doubt miles of corrugations are too blame for that. I'll need to repair or replace that soon.
