Possible borrowing of a battery charger for Td5 remapping?

    Hi Aulro

I'm just in the process of receiving an ECU remap back from Td5 Inside for my Defender but I don't have a battery charger that has a supply mode which is problematic based on everything I've heard and read.

So I'm wondering if there is anyone here on the forum that preferably lives on the east side of Melbourne and has a C-Tec charger or similar and would be willing to allow me the use of it for a couple of hours? More then happy to travel for it and will even throw some cash or a bottle of your favourite your way for your troubles!

    Let me know

    Best wishes

Perfect rangieman that's definitely close enough, I'm in Ferntree Gully so not far away and of course it's a good excuse to take the Landy out for a spin😉

Would late tomorrow afternoon suit you? PM me if you like and we'll organise a time etc😊

    Very much appreciated, thank you!!

I'm going to be flashing a tuned remap file onto the ECU with the Nanocom and the battery needs to stay at a constant voltage so the ECU doesn't drop communication during the process which can stuff the ECU apparently, which is definitely not something I want to have happen just now!

Hmmm Sassafras is closer... Doesn't matter what make or model it just needs to have a supply mode setting that can feed a constant level voltage to the battery..

I don't know that mine does. I can't find anything in the book about that.

Mine is a Projector 15 Amp 9 stage smarter than me charger that has a float mode just what you need ,
Weeds when remapping the ecu you need to either have a very good battery or have a float charger on to maintain battery
Yeah tomorrow arvo or evening is fine im home about 4.20 onwards

OK so it is possible to do it on the battery if its in good nick? I replaced the battery only a couple of weeks ago with a good 900cca one, if I try it just after getting back from work with the battery just charged would that work do you think? Or is it still to risky?
