    Swing Away Wheel Carrier

    Hi All

Who has a swing away and what do you think is the better unit. Tossing up between the Mantec and the Terrafirma which allegedly takes all the weight off the door

    TIA Ian

You should consider looking at rijidij. Locally made and quality.

    x2 for Rijidij

I have the dual jerry can holder and rear wheel holder on the back of my 90 and it is quality gear that will outlast the life of the vehicle. Murray is member on here as well.

I have a Rijidij Single carrier......best bit I like is the lock open arrangement as you can unlock it from the door handle itself.

It’s also strong enough for a chainsaw rack or bike rack.

Does one of the two you have mention requires holes drilled into the body wrk??

I would have put the rijidij one on, but it wouldn’t have fitted without modifying my bumperettes. So I went with the frontrunner one. No issues with it. Much better sealing on the rear door with the weight off it.

I have box containing one of Murray's wheel carriers (for a 130) in my garage at this very moment...
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Mantec. Works fine and easy to fit. Cheaper too.
But I do like the idea of supporting the locally made Rijidij product.

I'm after a Rijidij carrier, wouldnt buy anything else, but no cash at the mo. Accessorising (or not) the Defender is frustrating with no disposable!

    One day....
    - Rijidij wheel carrier
    - BAS tune and Intercooler
    - Ashcroft ATB's
    - mulgo exbox
    - mulgo poptop
    - traxide relays and dual battery

Is it Xmas 2020 yet? LOL.

I have a Rijidij on the Defender (vehicle for sale) and it's great. I had to modify the right hand bumperette by shortening it so the carrier would fit but that wasn't hard and it still looks OK.
I've also fitted one to the D4 and that doesn't cover as much of the rear lights as other brands. Top quality welding on the Rijidij product as well.
