Defender Front Axle Upgrade 10 to 24 spline conversion Detroit Truetrac Defender Front Axle Upgrade 10 to 24 spline conversion Detroit Truetrac

I've upgraded my 200TDi front axle to improve reliability and strength for remote area travel.
 The conversion included:
 - converting from 10 splines to 24 spline
- Maxi Drive HD half shafts and drive flanges
- changing from RTC6862 CV's to early type AEU2522's
- installing a Detroit Truetrac ATB limited slip diff for better strength and traction

All up the conversion cost around $AU4000.
The steering feels firmer in corners, with a stronger desire to return to centre, but nothing serious. Will get used to it.
 Noticeably less driveline slop.

Shouldn't have to touch that axle for a long time now.
The front ATB is a good way to get to understand how they work. Come out of a corner with plenty of squirt in a low gear and it'll pull straight aggressively. A bit like a lot of front wheel drives. If you're coasting with little or no torque on the driveline, its just like a normal diff.
