 Jeep Wrangler manual clutches and mud - don't go together...
		Is the Jeep Wrangler, particularly the JK series, an anomaly in the 4WDs that a bit of mud seems to wreck their manual gearbox clutches and throw out bearings? I've just been reading about them and all over the Jeep forums there's posts about not shifting gears when in the mud, if you stall, start in 4 Low so you don't have to push the clutch in etc.
Whats different about their setups to say that of the Defender which doesn't seem to be so badly effected?

I dont know what they do. I know LR extensively tested their vehicles in mud, slush, water etc. I have changed gears in my D2 in water above the boney and no issues with slipping. Cheers.
They used to when they built real 4WD's
LR took the very first lot of D3's to Kenya to put them through some rough roads to show the world how good they were.
Representatives,customers, and the media from the area were invited to see the fantastic new model.
Every one of them broke down on the water crossings.....
Mate I agree. My mates D3 suffered serious damage from electronics going out to lunch at Cape York. No warning lights either. Wrecked the trans with CDL locking when it shouldn't do so. The d4 ended up with handbrake problems. Admittedly the crossing in question was seriously deep but it didn't worry the D2, nor Triton, nor 75 series. Cheers
