    Whining noise D4

Hi everyone, my D4 has a high pitched whining noise coming from the front somewhere when I turn steering wheel to right..
Any ideas on what this could signify?

    Thanks in advance

Check power steering reservoir level, flush and replace with new fluid. Sounds like the ps pump is struggling.

Or wheel bearing is failing. How many k's on the car?

I have a similar issue on my D4 HSE MY13 with a bit over 111500 km's on the car (i've had it from new, never goes off road).

Was recently serviced at a dealer and i was told there was a 'very very minor leak' (not sure where). Fluid level was down only a tiny bit and was told not to worry it'll be fine.

Well i am worried as the noise continues!! Only happens when i turn right and the more speed i have when going into the corner, the more noticeable the whine/noise is. Mine is not a high pitched noise - its not a wheel bearing (i've had that issue before and this is different), but instead it's a noticeable whine.

I also wondered if it could be the PS pump?? The car is only driven by myself or my husband, treated nice, never been off road or on rough terrain so i'm a bit baffled as to why its suddenly started doing this (other than the 'it's a landrover' reason LOL). Can't imagine how it could be an issue with the steering rack!!

any comments or suggestions appreciated. thankyou!!

With the engine going, try turning the wheels while stationary. This would indicate steering box/fluid problem. Usually it would happen in both directions rather than just to the right though.

Air in the power steering system can make them noisy, when I worked at Ford dealers the BA Falcon was prone to getting air in the power steering and being noisy after the steering was turned with the engine off.

All of the above, but it could also be a displeased female travelling companion.

That noise appears to not improve with time either.
