    Puma ECU reset

I have a 2013 2.2L puma that blew an engine.
Bought a secondhand engine and gearbox fitted today turned the key no crank?
Dash lights work fuel pump primes all gauge lights come on then extinguish.
Turn the key no crank?? no dimming lights nothing.
The engine and ECU have been out for 12 months.
Does the alarm code need resetting or the ECU need power for a while before starting.
The alarm light on the dash goes out and the alarm works as it should.
Just thinking the alarm may be dissabelleing the start circuit.

Is the starter trigger wire connected and seated correctly?

Did you use the original injectors or are you using new ones? If using new ones, you have to encode the new injector numbers into the ECU as it will not recognize the new injectors.

You should also do a relearn and pump calibration if you get it running after updating the injector numbers.

The lack of power to the ECU and the alarm module should not affect them unless they were also taken out when the your troubles started.

    Puma ECU Reset

I too am interested in what the problem might be, as I have rebuilt the engine and had the gearbox rebuilt. While waiting the the gearbox, I was unable to crank the engine without the gearbox fitted, I have a feeling that without the complete harness being connected the ECU will not send a crank signal to the starter relay. I just dont want to put the gearbox in this weekend and have the same problem as the original poster of this thread.

    I'm guessing an unrelated issue:
*Ignition switch has died (common failure).
    *Starter motor is dead.
    *Check fuses, relays.
*See if the starter motor is getting power.
    ---
*Having different injectors wont prevent it from starting.
*Coding injectors is merely for the fine variation in tolerances.
