    TDi 300 owners beware

    Guys ,
Just had my TDi timming belt replaced (@99k and now 160K) by Kev at Rovatech here in Perth.
He did the usual good job whilst doing their extensive checks he found the timing case was cracked which is caused by a bearing vibration wearing the metal thin and then cracking he said it is quite common in TDis and not unusual to jam solid and put the fan through the radiator (ouch)>the new timing cover was $680, Air con bearing $380 etc etc, I came out of there $2200 poorer but a lot better off than if the fan had gone on its excursion through the radiator. So have a check yourselves.
