12 V Accessory Switched Power Supply Sorted!!!

G’Day everyone;

No, this isn’t another where do I get a 12V accessory feed thread, hopefully the gadget I’ve purchased will cure this issue for ever, and it’s solid state, meaning no fuses or relays ever needed, water proof and each circuit is programable!

6 circuits per unit, one power lead to the battery, only one to an accessory needed but controlling 6 circuits, and one earth line. Varying Amp draw over the 6 circuits for differing loads, Max 15 Amps for a total of 60 Amps.

Ive purchased two of them, one for the cabin circuits such as UHF, Stereo, Gauges, and phone chargers etc, and one for the rear connected to my second lithium battery doing all the accessory lighting circuits etc.
‘I’ll post pictures once I receive them from the US and replace my mandraulic fuse boxes, relays and associated wiring etc.

Use something similar - albeit more configurable here on several bits and pieces.

I should be fine as I won’t be running to electric motors and the unit replaces the need for relays, only powering the items I mentioned in my first post but I take your point, and will use a dedicated circuit for the fridge via my battery box or Mean Mother power hub.

same thing goes for anything with a cheap switchmode powersupply...

theres a reason some inverters dont like driving a switchmode powersupply. If this distribtion unit works as I think it might a switchmode going loaded/unloaded might do the same thing.

Probably the guts of the $900 optional switch panel on swmbo's new Rubicon, although it is integrated with the vehicle's canbus for control. Luckily it was already attached and she didnt pay for it...

Hmmm - We use solid state relays on our hydraulic valves (24Vdc cetop 5 and 7) for the very reason they can handle flyback spikes and haven't had a problem with them. Most of these valves run several times per minute over 16 hrs per day. I wonder what fails in the Amplink ?

I wonder if an external flyback diode would protect the module.

I suspect that its not the solidstate relay part, cause its not one, its many and its got load sensing built into it (apparently), My opening guess is that its not the current carrying ability that gets fried its the loadsensing and then because the load sensing is not working the bleed current for start up load detect doesnt get measured and so it stays turned off...
