    The Time has finally come

    Hi All,

After more than four years for fantastic Discovery ownership, this time has come to make a change, as my needs have changed and LR dont have a vehicle matching my needs. My much loved D4 has gone and been replaced with a Ford Ranger double cab, that i will be building into a capable tourer. I picked up my 20.75 demo last Tuesday and have been impressed with the NVH and drivability, whilst not in the D4 league it is remarkably civilised and comfortable.

So after removing all the goodies, i will be posting the following items in the Marketplace shortly:

    - Mitch hitch
    - APT Rockslider sidesteps
    - APT Compressor Guard
    - APT Transmission Guard
    - iDrive Throttle Module
    - CMK Compressor (replaced as i thought it was faulty, but that wasnt found to be the issue)
    - Front Lower Control Arms (On the D4 for 75k, then replaced entire arms. New bushes needed)
    - Traxide second battery tray
    - Llams complete module
    - Genuine ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid - 5 x 1L unopened bottles
    - Genuine LR Turbo control Solenoid - LR021929 - Brand New
    - Genuine Front Air Suspension Valve block RVH000046 - Replaced as part of fault finding, but found not to be the issue

    cheers
    Geoff

I've thought about doing much the same thing but as the "D" is running well at the mo will keep it for now. I doubt the next vehicle will be a Landie but one never knows....

I have both at the moment. D4 and a Ranger I use for work.

They aren’t a bad bus. Little loose on the back end on fast dirt, and the chimes - oh the chimes... thankfully I worked out how to disable those!

3.2 goes alright, trans doesn’t always get the gear choice optimum.

    Tombie,

Yes the chimes are getting to me and the trans isnt as precise as the Disco 8 speed, although the Mod on the Ranger forum uses a Forscan (similar to iiD tool) and can make significant changes to the CCF, including the transmission. I gotta remember that i really shouldnt compare an $85k premium vehicle with a $54k ute.

I have a few mods that will be getting done, suspension, tune, exhaust, canopy, transmissison valve body and these are aimed at making it more livable.

Additionally, i was going to be up for nearly $9k in tyres, timeing belts, major trans service, brakes and AC compressor in the coming 6 months or so, which made the change easier.

    cheers
    Geoff
