    D4 centre console cracking

G'day - the top of the centre console in my 2010 D4 has started to crack from general wear (see photos attached). Some of the under foam under the black top surface is showing and I'd like to repair/seal it now before it gets worse.

Does anyone have any advice on a product to DIY repair this? Maybe a glue or protective sealant?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Alex

I recall there was a thread within the last 6 months on this (maybe Tombie?) but was either a specific thread, or in this generic D3/4 one.

Some kind soul will chip in soon I'm sure/confident!

You can get new covers and/or a wetsuit material cover.

    Centre console top

Cutting straight to the punchline, I ended up ordering a brand new top ex USA - not the cheapest solution, but certainly maintains the OEM look, which I prefer.

Wetsuit material is certainly going to be cheaper, and possibly more durable.

There are also covers on ebay you can stick over the top, but i wasn't blown away by the look of those...

Veebs, can I buy your old top. Mine isn't worn but the kids slammed it and broke the latch. Not available separately of course

Sorry mate, it was thrown out. The latch had snapped anyway, probably from the same level of violence yours was subject too :-)

Veebs, you break my heart just now!

They pushed it forward when the UHF cable was coming out. End of story. I'm now going to relocate the UHF wiring.. If I ever do it that is. I have all the gear to do it. Just procrastination is my best attribute.
