    D4 Door Trim repair?

The sill trim in my MY14 D4 has started to wear where my elbow sits on the window sill. In the last couple of days the vinyl itself has teared as in the photo.

Anyone know how to tackle this? If I leave it I think its going to spread, particularly as now it has teared and exposed the sticky glued surface underneath. Replacing the trim panel would be the ultimate solution, if they are even available? Tape? Some other temporary repair?

I use the vehicle every day for work. It doesn't need to be pristine. Just a repair that is stable would be a good solution ATM.

    Cheers, Chris.

Following with interest, as I have the same issue

I've wondered if the top section of the door card could be revinyled - just the textured black bit...?

I had the same on my 2011 TDV6. I replaced the door card with one from a salvage yard.

I used these guys on my D3 which had a fairly beaten up interior. I was happy with the results, if you knew where to look you could see the repairs but anyone just getting in the car wouldn't know.

Many years ago I had a vinyl repair kit. Basically you applied a liquid to the area and then placed a "grain" pad on top to give it a similar look to the area being patched. Might be worth a look if you're not fussy about the finish.

SCA has them. Here's a link. I googled vinyl repair kit and the first pop up was a Kogan one which was about half the price but then you get inundated with spam mail for a while.

I think it would be the natural oils from skin that does the most damage!

We are lucky to all have dry itchy skin.....

And the bulldust soaks up the rest.
