    Discovery 4 2.7 tdv6 crankshaft modifications ?

first of all hello everyone! I am new to this forum and I am a bit far from you since I live in France! Can you enlighten me on the possible modifications made to the 2.7 of the Discovery 4 ... I intend to buy one but I am a little cooled by the engine failures to tell the truth ... excuse my English 🙄

There are no modifications, the D4 2.7 is probably the most reliable version of the TDV6.

    That's just run in.....with a new turbo you're set for another 200,000km

But seriously, at 220000km,check suspension including all control arms and wheel bearings. I've just completed a complete overhaul of the suspension on my D4 3.0 at 219000km, including:
    - New air struts
    - New control arms front and rear, upper and lower
    - New swaybar links front
    - New wheel bearings
    - air suspension control block solenoid rebuild kit

    Bienvenue et Bonne Annee,
    Exciting times.
Eric makes a good point about the other items to consider during your proposed new adventure with the Disco 4 in France.
That should not deter you from purchasing though. Just allow some future budget to carry out some overhaul work in the years ahead,
If you plan for this in your budget, then you will not be disappointed along the way.
From a European perspective, you may already know of the LR Time Channel on You Tube. Christian and Vera (Southern Germany) take on numerous projects in a positive manner, to keep their Disco 3 & 4 running and improving them.
    Bon courage!

Thank you for all the encouragement! Because if we base ourselves on a large part of the discussions about crankshaft failures, it's still very scary 🙄! I will try to send you the announcement to have your opinion if you want!
