    How do I confirm a vehicle's spec?

Hi folks, new in here. Just about to pull the trigger on a Disco 4 (2015 build).

But before I do, one simple question which is turning out not to be so simple to answer...
How can I confirm the spec? (TDV6, SE, or HSE?).

    Sounds daft, I know, but:

    1. Seller is advertising as SE.
    2. Vehicle is one without the spec ID marking on the back right of the tailgate.
    3. Cannot find online a simple checklist or spec configuration for Discovery 4 - lots of spec lists that give engine size, weights etc, but I can't find one that details what is 'on' each model .

    Pointers:

I actually know it's not an HSE, because the seats don't have armrests/memory function.
Have used the VIN tool online, no help there. (bit like point 3 above, it just tells me that it's a 3.0 L diesel discovery 4 - is the 3 L engine a definitive pointer on a 2015 build, or was it common to all specs at this point? This could be the answer?)
Have sighted an original LR service doc from the owner, which bizarrely lists it as a 'TDV6 HSE'. (It isn't, unless someone specified it without the electric front seats, and he's the original owner and did not...)
The front seats are completely non-electric.

Any views? any simple, easy way of confirming the actual spec?

    Thanks!

A simple way would be to go onto the TOPIx website and put in the VIN to see what specs come up. My D3 is too old to show up but yours should still be OK.

From memory the TDV6 is different to an SE which should be an SDV6 SE.

I had a 2016 SDV6 SE which had electric seats and armrests as standard.

From memory the TDV6 was a 3 litre but had less power & torque.

Not absolutely positive but that's how i remember it.
    Cheers

I have a 2015 SE. SDV6. It only has Discovery on the tail gate. It has SDV6 badge on the front doors. IIRC (happy to be corrected) the TDV6 has a TDV6 badge on the front doors.

Its weird. Seats are below the spec I thought/expected, but it does seem to be an SDV6. I'll have a look at the service record. Odd how hard it is to actually lock this down.

    Bingo.

It's got TDV6 on the doors... Now for some decisions... Thanks - never even noticed those little logos on the doors before...

I was in the same boat as you so I just trusted the Carsales specs. After buying it, I emailed Land Rover to send me a copy of the delivery contract for the VIN and got passed on to a third party company that handled their archives. I told them I needed it for insurance purposes so I can declare the variant and fitted options accurately. It told me the exact model variant, trims, and fitted options, BUT funny enough, not the standard options that come with the variant.

Whole process took about 3 business days (speaking to LR, then to a 3rd party, then recieving the scanned document).

You can always email Land Rover and they will send you back the spec sheet.
Otherwise you can pay a login fee on Topix for the same, which annoyingly used to be free.

I’m assuming it’s the one in QLD with 192,500Km and beige interior. That is 100% a TDV6. It has the touchscreen/reverse camera/GPS/Front PDC/Meridian factory option. It looks like it might also have Xenon headlights.
