Passengers Power Window Switch Smoking - PUMA

    Hi All,

The other morning I jumped in the car and pressed the down button on both front windows in my PUMA. The drivers side went down no problems but the passengers window stopped momentarily (like .25 sec) and then continued to go down until it was fully down. Afterward a little wisp of smoke came out of the passengers switch. Everyone knows smoke is supposed to stay inside the wires...

Anyhoo, I got home and pulled off the dash to check the switch. All looked ok, possibly a little tan colour but definitely a minor burnt plastic smell. To be on the safe side I have disconnected the passengers switch.

Anyone come across this before? What's the fix. A factory switch is about 35quid - should I buy 2? Do aftermarket ones work. I'll also see if i can get a second hand one. Or do I just leave it?

    Cheers

If it’s the switch I think they are the same as a Disco 2
Plenty of those out there being wrecked
Probably better than a blue box purchase

Its a little bit common, when they fail I swap it out for a Disco 2 one, I think there are 4 variations of the switch as in the plugs are different so they cant be swapped, who knows why.
I have a box full of switches, I change them out and go again. I cant remember ever buying one nor charging a customer for one.
    Regards
    Daz
