RRS Lower Control Arms

My 2007 RRS has now covered 204,000km and I am going to have to let the moths out of the wallet and spend some money on the suspension. Everything is original in the car as it was built.

I am going to order a new Meyle lower control arm kit but am thinking what else I should get at the same time.

While not doing the upper arms at this time I am thinking of also replacing the top ball joints as they are cheap and may have got a bit of a shaking around with worn lower control arms.

Also thinking of new steering rack tie rod ends.

My left front inner CV boot needs replacing but I have one ready to go.

Wheel bearings are still original but there is no evidence of upcoming failure so I would leave these at the moment, front brakes and disks are relatively new so are OK. Air bags and shocks are original but again there is no indication of them failing but the rear shocks are gone but that is for another day.

So looking for suggestions what else I should consider replacing at the same time as doing the front lower control arms?

Definitely do the sway bar bushes front and rear. LR make a 5 minute job tricky you need the right tools to get access to the nuts or remove front diff mount bolts and lever mount to one side and you can get a swivel socket in there. Rear a tight squeeze. They cost almost nothing.

Front sway bar links easy rear are hard to change.

With new lower arms and sway bar bushes it will feel new. If you’ve never towed or serious off-road the rest will probably be ok.

There’s full sets of lower and upper arms you can buy if you want to really release those moths.

Thanks for that - good information had thought of the sway bar bushes but forgot to put them on my list.
