    Moreton Island Fuel needs

    Hi all,

Quick query if you don't mind: for anyone who's done Moreton Island trips with a D4. We're off in a week or so. I'm just thinking through everything, and notice that there's no fuel on the island... Have you found it necessary to take jerrycans, or is a full tank sufficient for a 'long w/e' (3 days)? I know it's a bit of a how long is a piece of string question, but assuming 'normal' behaviour, with the aim of driving say once the full length of the eastern beach, and a trip or two across the middle track in that time, I think that I should be OK without the hassle of rigging/carrying fuel - but 'lived experience' would be good! I drive gently, rather than aggressively. TDV6 2015 if it matters.

Grateful for your comments - cheers.

    Moreton Island Fuel needs

    Hi

For 3 days I dont think you will need extra fuel. But you could take one jerry if you wanted a bit of insurance. A full tank has been enough for 3-5 days when Ive been there, driving all over the island (not towing anything).
