the mt82 gearbox is used in commercial vehicles behind the 2.2 engine all over the world , should be simple to obtain one from any wrecking yard.

 the MT82 behind the ranger is different internally to the LR MT82.  Uses different gearsets and different main shaft. Likewise the transit version of the MT82 is different internally again.  I know because we stripped a ranger and transit box hoping to steal parts.  You would want to compare the input shaft length, spline count and pilot whether they are the same.  Likewise, would want to satisfy yourself that the tail housing bolt pattern on the case and output shaft are the same.
