Swap a Manual TDV6 S D3 to an Auto TDV6 HSE D3 same year model?

    Hi all,

If I have 1 x 05 TDV6 S 05 Manual in normal working condition, and I have 1x 05 Tdv6 HSE in normal working condition, and I want to have all fruits and juices from the HSE in my Manual one. Which option you prefer?

    1. Just pull all HSE interior and exterior parts (that S model doesn't have) and put it on the S (CAN NOT get 3x rows airconditioner, and 3x sunroofs)

    2. Swap all Manual system from the S to the HSE so I can have all HSE parts.

But if your that keen.. I'd ask Cambo, the box change would be easier in my mind with less new funny noises

I'll take door number 2 Darryl.

Much less to swap over. You'd want to make sure the wiring harness is compatible. Mainly the extra wiring from the clutch position sensor to the handbrake module.

Having done a few "trim swaps" on far simpler cars I'm with Brad. I'd need a bloody good reason to attempt a trim swap on a RRS.

Have you considered tuning your auto box for better performance instead of doing a trans swap?

No, because I am with Manual for life and really love the way I could drive the TDV6 D3 Manual, but also i want HSE functions in my S, that's why came up with the idea of buying a HSE to do the crazy swap.

I am good with electrical things but none with mechanical works, so a bit of challenge and do not want to do box swap, but really like the factory HSE 3rd air conditioner row and 3 sunroofs.

I am at this point with my 2 off D2, s. I love them both, but i am going to sacrifice one of them. The pre facelift manual kit is going into the later auto 2003. I am sick of the Zp4 box even though it works ok. I realise the D3 box is different, but i am mainly country based, and still like cog swapping. My manual D2 with ATB centre diff is more versatile even in city traffic.

If you could get access to a 2 post hoist, swap the bodies over.

Pretty smart idea. Two hoists would be even better, but it couldn't be too hard to come up with some sort of dolly arrangement to move the bodies around.
