    2.0 ltr engine light hone

I’d like to lightly hone the bores as the engine is out and and getting a quick freshen up. Can I release the Conrods from the crank and gently tap the pistons out through the top of the block and then use a honing brush? I had so much trouble with broken bolts on the timing cover that I’m very reluctant to go there again and thus would rather leave the crank in place.
    Is this a viable plan?
    Thanks,
    P

    Probably.
It's just that the pistons are a pain to get back in through the top due to the sloped head. Much easier to get the rings in there through the bottom of the bore.

I removed & refitted pistons & rods from 6-cylinder F head some years back without too much difficulty.
I hand scraped a wear ridge and honed, just a bit of rag over the crank journals.

I would second that & is easy to brake rings refitting the pistons.

So I guess a light honing with a honing stone brush while the pistons are still in isn’t an option?
Is partial deglazing better than none?
