Changing a windscreen with a snorkel

    Hey all
Cracked windscreen. I have a Safari snorkel. Does the snorkel need to be removed to change the screen or can they work around it, lifting up the cowling?

Dunno about a D4, let alone an Audi (), but it wasn't necessary on my D2.

They undo the bolts on the A pillar, pop the cover off and replace as normal.

Depends where you go…some will do as Tombie has written; others will ask you to remove.

Not sure about the 'pop the cover off' when a mob over here did my windscreen a couple of years ago.
Ripped it off is more the word I would. Bunch of bloody lunatics who advised me not to watch... I think the snorkle side was removed in the same 'couldn't care less fashion it's someone else's property' but I think the snorkles holding bolts have held it in position OK.
'B' pillar cover kept coming loose and flapping but not actually coming adrift as it was held at the bottom. I fixed it with new clips etc and would never go back to them idiots.

Strewth. In my case I was lucky enough to find a small mob recommended as they do a lot of LRs. He warned he might crack the A pillar trim, but he didn't. I would happily recommend them to anyone in Melb's east.

In my case, they ****ed it up,even without a snorkle.

Had numerous windscreens fitted to other vehicles by the same mob,no issues.

Had mine changed in Perth some years ago - the trim has buzzed in the wind ever since, but a strip of electrical tape to seal it seems to resolve things.

Also much more streamlined with the tape - I reckon I’ve dropped a few l/100km in fuel burn Changing a windscreen with a snorkel
