Mud Flaps Installation (Factory option, but aftermarket) VPLSP0016 / CAS500070PCL

After spotting a L320 in town with what was likely the original factory option fitted and really liked the look and practicality, I looked up in the parts catalog for them and found the numbers and found you could get them 'cheap' on ebay uk. They arrived pretty quick and easy to install:

Just a matter of removing the factory screws and fitting the clips, and screwing back in, dont forget the bottom one underneath (not visible)

Note the rubber strip, this gets cut in half and is overlapped a little buy the new mud guard

You will need some longer screws than that you get in the kit for the rear ones

That black tab folds back on itself to create a spacer, thus the need for longer screws, also the other rear spots fit better with the longer screws

Note the little square edged notch, just below the screw head at the top there's not a screw here to remove but thats roughly where the top one lines up on the new flap. It didnt come with and more 'nut clips', so i just got a thinner screw and washer and put it through the edge of the plastic fender

My RRS came standard with rear mudflaps and I purchased a cheap front set off ebay about 8 years ago. The cheap front set have held up as well as the OEM rears in all that time.
