Ok I spotted on Aliexpress " new" 3.0 V6 engines sans ancillaries for around 3-4 K. Has anyone tried one?![]()

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Well. It would probably be ok, however, if it’s not, you’ll have to send it back at your cost which will be more than the cost of the product.
I bought a light fitting. Came destroyed, the recompense was to ship it back for a refund. Sure, but that would be nearly as much as the product cost. No refund if I didn’t ship it back. Waste of time. Engaged PayPal, same story. Ship it back if you want PayPal protection. $300 down the drain.

I had a similar issue with a bit of tooling. Cost me more to ship it back than it originally cost. The vendor refunded the purchase price (incl original shipping to me) but declined to pay for the return, so I hit up Aliexpress and they refunded me the return shipping.

Must admit I've found them pretty reasonable and not yet had any issue wrt to refund and getting shipping cost back. Understood its a gamble but isn't buying a secondhand engine or rebuilding also a gamble? Just wondering IF an engine failure occured ( fingers crossed it doesn't) that this may be an option
If it’s to good to be true it probably isn’t what it seems
less than 3 k for a new engine??
doubt it’s going to end with a long term smile

I've had no issues with either the forty thieves or meetoo. But I'm only buying high sale electronic items. I have noticed that high ticket, unusual items are labelled "Out of stock" when ordered. I don't know how either market really works, but I wonder if some "sellers" put up random items for the "look at me" value, to gain traffic. A TDV6 could be such an item. Seems unlikely that those clever fellows would be bothered creating a knock off of a TDV6. Still, lots of the knock off stuff turns up on the jungle company markets, so maybe wait until these show up there....... They say "returns are easy", after all...

There is one group that has engine at over $8000 so you'd have to think that might be decent. Again I don't need one 🤞but looking at all cars being wrecked because of engine failure I wonder![]()
How can they be much worse than what the manufacturer fitted originally?
Yeah, don't assume that these engines actually exist.
What other items did that seller have - the engine(s) may be ghost listings intended to attract buyers who may then buy the other (real) items that are listed alongside.
If you want to check it out, be my guest to click Buy Now. My bet is they will come back "so sorry, last one sold, out of stock"
