    D3 body removal

Reading threads about jobs that are easier with the body off, I wonder if anyone who doesn't have a 2post hoist has an alternative method for body removal. I'm thinking that maybe a couple of timbers passed through the body's open windows with the car raised on a 4 post hoist and then lowering the chassis away might work. the concern is potential damage to the body shell with the weight of the body taken mainly on the roof structure.

    Any thoughts on this?

    D3 body removal

In the wide world of YouTube I saw some guys do this in UK with big fork lift through the open side windows. It worked. I don't think it was a pride and joy car though.

Hopefully they wound the windows down first.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I doubt the door window frames would like the treatment.

With chassis disconnected it's probably reasonably light. Obviously a lot of padding on the tinges is preferable.

There are some very dodgy looking videos! I think that I'll keep the body attached or buy a proper hoist rather than risking life and limb or damage to the car.
    Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
