Thought that was a pretty balanced thread, considering it was a non-LR forum.

Yes. Had it been the Overlander forum, the anti-LR brigade would have been out in force.

Especially considering one of the loudest supporters is a Jeep owner.

    D3

Yep not bad at all. Unfortunatly the D3 is at the forefront of the next generation of vehicles in its class. This means ironing out the bugs associated with its systems. Mind you I have seen a lot of 100 series lately with LEMON written all over them. But the die hards would'nt tell you that. Unfortunately a lot of people are too small minded to appreciate a vehicle for what it is, regardless of its brand.

For argument sake, if I could afford it ( and just might one day) a Euro military spec Mercedes "G" wagon would be sitting in the shed next to the Rangie. But they would pick that to pieces as well ah.

Let your car do the talking on the tracks, thats what I do.

    Regards Justin

I agree I saw the Mec "G" wagon on Top Gear and it was awesome. Top gear gave it a flogging and it did every obstacle with style.

A recent comment by a bloke (Frank Elson to those who have read his column in LRE or LRM or LRO) on the Rangie List was that he had a G-wagen and the price of parts could be estimated by pricing the RR part and adding a zero to the end of it. He reckoned that was pretty accurate.

They would have to go a long way to beat the price of front shocks for a MkIII RR, just priced the cost of replacing mine.

Front pair plus fitting = around $6k

    Cheers.

Does anyone do aftermarket shocks, e.g. Bilstein, Koni.

Surely the labour can't be that high.
