Bizarre Landy & funny cop car ANZAC day

Saw these at Alstonville on ANZAC day:

This thing (above) is named a 'bummer' and from what I could see, it appeared to ride on a series chassis, had LandRover sized wheel nut hubs and fw hubs...

A local highway patrol Falcon XR6, note the sticker on the window, says 'Jack Lives Here, Old No.7'... a cop car endorsing the dreaded drink "But Officer, I was only drinking what you endorse, it's advertised on your cop car."

    cheers, GQ

And the (motor) assembly prior to the parade, sadly not a real Land Rover in sight, might just have to organise one.... (note the ring in way down the back, a bl00dy Porsche......)

That's an interesting sticker..... trying to pretend not to be one perhaps???

Wasn't that long ago that sort of behaviour was called entrapment and not legal here...

FYI no entrapment laws have ever existed in Australia, Youve been watching to much American tv. I wouldnt see how a sticker could 'entrap' (force) someone to speed anyway.

You've got a keen eye for observation there Quiggers.

The Bummer is a local GC vehicle built by a truck builder/owner who fab'd every panel.... it is ALL classic Rangy underneath. He's done a very nice job on it

I'll give it to the bloke who built the "Bummer" (what the plate said) for building something that is drivable but he should try to make the next one look good as well.

That is a very very weird looking car.

Could have come up with a better name surely. BUMMER?
And yeah, sort of tug boat beautiful. Not at all what you could call shapely of lines, but a beautiful big beasty of a machine.
As for PC Plod, don't drink, drive a Series model so I can't speed. And what in blazes is that Willys doing there?
Oh, that's right, they did actually come first. Then dear old Blighties engineers had a look, and fixed it. Some lovely old motors around though, aren't there. Even the old Willys.

    Shorty.

I don't think my pics have done the bummer justice; front on, it was very tall... look at it relative the EH behind and the people on the xing...

...it also appeared very well made, even the door panels were not dead flat, but had been 'shaped' (I'm sure there is a technical term for this)?
