    Smile Will this work?

Heres what I have, I have a 51 series 1 80, its fundamentally a shell with a chassis motor box tcase and that about all,
I also have a 53 chassis which is a runner just has no body, can I put the 51 body on the 53 chassis which is also a swb and then find some front sheet work somewhere.
I got a 107 lwb of 55 make I was gonna wreck but decided its too good and will rebuild this for daily use its got a holden grey six, I am getting out of my Series 3 to go Series 1 crazy.
Hope fully at a later date I can find another tub or another series1 wreck and rebuild the original 51 chassis, I really know precious very little about the S1s but something has caught my attention to them
PS anyone got 2 doors for a 1?

If they are both 80", the answer is yes, you can put the 51 body on the 53 (The wheelbase changed in 53), although there are likely to be quite a few detail differences that you will have to work around.

Whether it is a good idea may be another matter - 80" Landrovers of any kind are getting to be quite rare, and mixing bits from different vintages greatly devalues the result.

Yes I understand exactly what your saying John re the value of the little 80s, its hard for me as I just have the contacts to find what I need and the finance side of it restricts me to make do with what I can find, I am always on the sniff for Series 1s they turn up in funny places, I drove for 6 hours to float a big Clydesdale back home so I reckon I would go west if needed to find a good series one or parts, if I spend some time doing what I need to do on the 107 first I can maybe find enough original bits, if necessary I could use the original chassis but use the 53 diffs and springs and try and rebuild the original seized engine.
