    defender rear wheel carrier

    Hi all,

I am looking at putting a rear wheel carrier on my 07 fender. I would appreciate any opinions/views on the various brands for sale. Do any of them allow you to lock the wheel in the open position?

    thanks

I just had the opposite lock one fitted. I wish I could get some pics for you but maybe the boys at parramatta landrover will take them for you instead seeing they see more of my Defender then I....can you tell I'm sour??? hahaha.

No, but when I get it back I'll get some pics.

    Hi Kevin,

I obtained my wheel carrier from WA - phone 08 93621744 - they freighted it to the front door - I think it was around $650 all up (might be $695)

However, if you wish to have a look at it give me a call.
But make sure you bring the Defender - I want to have a good look at that overhead console of yours.

Ritter sell Bearmach and Scorpion Racing, Bearmach was cheaper and apart from the Hi-Lift jack mount, looked the same. Takes no time to install and makes a big difference to the door. Well it did on a 300Tdi Defender, so I'm assuming the 07 won't be any different.

From memory the differences between a 300Tdi Carrier and a Td5 unit are to do with the door hinges.

make sure you get the correct model bearmach as there is three, unfortunatly we got the wrong one and i did not realise untill i had drilled the holes in the new defender. luckily it fitted ok despite what the web site said. so we have ended up with the none greesable model and its mounts more inboard than the newer model.
