300TDI / 5speed box in Ser III ??

HI All,

My Ser 3 Ute project ( V8 removed, bob tailed ) has now taken a turn, I have a 3.5lt V8 that I was going to put back in place of the 4.4 but have just got hold of a 300TDI and 5 speed box that needs to go in

Question being .................... Has anyone done this before ? I know the tail shaft and mounts will all have to be re-designed, build a bigger tunnel for gear box etc, is there any other reason not to attempt this conversion ? The car allready has a in-date Gas system fitted and have followed up using that for diesel gas with no problems !

I take it you mean fitting R380 (5-speed box) AND LT230 (T-case) ?

Has been done before by a few people. 110 t-case mounts bolt straight to thje chassis rails, you just need to drill 3 holes each side and weld in crush tubes to fit them.
