    Defender water tank

    G'day all

Just wondering if anybody knows who makes/sells a water tank to fit behind the rear wheel on the passenger side of a tdi defender. Its a decent space that i'd like to fill. A plastic/aluminium/stainless steel tank, i'm not particularly fussy.

    thanks, Jamie

only gripe with it tap has been put in a vunerable place but will be easy enough to move especially if we get a water pump

I believe 4WD Megastore carry a (appox) 40litre tank to fit inside the guard.
Also have a lok at FRONT RUNNER 4x4 TECHNOLOGY - front runner 4x4 accessories ROOFRACKS&ACCESSORIES rooftop tents storage systems fridges freezers fuel tanks awnings camping winch towbars ( Sth Africa ). similar tank

It will still work out cheaper to import from S Africa than buy local.

There was a thread a while back, ( last 2 - 3 months ) somebody on this forum had fitted a tank and had photo's

think you might find they will no longer sell to jo public due to complaints for distributors

Hi, That Front Runner tank is available from Dolium Dolium PTY Ltd in perth. I belive that they are the importers and also supply to Opposite Lock.

The old defenders can fit a 40 lt tank, but the 07 defenders can only fit 32 lt due to the different hieght of the wheel arches to allow the 3rd row seating

not sure who told you that craig as pretty sure ours is 45ltr

and it even states it on the website that you posted a link to

    Dolium PTY Ltd

and as far as i'm also aware there is no difference in height to the seat boxes only that the 07 hasn't got a right angle on it any more like the old ones it slants away to compensate for the 3rd row of seats

    new

looking at them looks like there maybe a little loss in height i'm not sure maybe we should measure them
i also think that the carpet makes the drop look worse than it is...because i dont think it looks that bad with out the carpet

That's funny cause the tank the link refers to is a fuel tank not a water tank. On their site the water tank for the Puma is shown as 32L where as the older model is a 40L.
