    Question Fuel Level Sensor

Just installed a Siemens/VDO fuel level sensor (33.5-240 Ohm - part #A2C59510172) in my auxiliary fuel tank. The guy at the shop measured the resistance of the fuel gauge and said that it is the right one.
But, it is not the right one as when the fuel level sensor is down, it still shows that the tank is half full. If the fuel level sensor is up it shows correct that the tank is full, when I slowly let the sensor go down the gauge reacts instantly. So the problem is only with the empty tank.

Does anybody know what the resistance is for the fuel gauge of the Defender TD5?

    Thanks for your help.

Hi, I just measured one on the bench - full around 20 ohms, empty 325 ohms. Cheers, Erich.
