Do you mean that Group Captain Lineshoot did not come down to the workshop to give you a personal briefing? Would never happen in a union shop.

So this is probably the reason Newcastle has been buzzed all of last week by low flying formations of F18 and biplanes?

Awesome to watch, and hear and feel.

The wife and I went to the Airshow at Richmond NSW back in the early 80's or late 70's, it was the most amazing event I've ever attended, F111 doing about 500mph 50 ft off the runway and then hitting the afterburners at the end of the runway and disappearing straight up. I will never forget it, the noise of the engines was travelling about 30 or 40 metres behind the aircraft as it went past it was silent, then the noise hit like a cricket bat to the side of the head, scared the crap out of everyone.
The crowd was estimated to be between 250,000 and 500,000, there were 250K inside the Base and looked to be that many outside.
The show ended about 5pm and we didn't get out of the gate till about 10pm that night, and we were in the first half of the crowd leaving, took another three hours to get to Blacktown, was well worth it though, Regards Frank.

picture all of that 12-15 times aday for the last few weeks....

If I NEVER see another dump and burn. vertical ascent, flyby or plane in the sky it will be too soon,

that said, having seen the planned attendance list it should be a top show.

I sneeked onto the parking lot stuff today..

If your coming BE EARLY, ATM I cant reveal why (If I can later I will) but I strongly suggest that if you can that you should park somewhere near Ipswich and then catch public transport to the main station and get the shuttle bus in.

I will update with what I can IF i can so if your coming youve got the good oil.

the usual stuff applies bring plenty of water to drink as it gets hot and windy, we're already getting 28+ degrees with a dry wind. Hat sunnies and sunscreen.
I havent managed to find the catering plan yet.

    G'day Folks

Yup! the Military Jeep club of Qld got an invite to attend, and the rules were vehicles in on Thursday, leave until Sunday PM

So, you know why there will be very few if any military vehicles there, it would require vehicle to show/attend vehicle. vehicle to go home in, return next day, and go all through it again, and there is some rare and valuable stuff on some of those vehicles, some parts have taken years to find, so owners won't leave them unattended.

    cheers

    Some pics JUST for Dave!

PS Tank: That display at Richmond was a USAAF F15A, flypast then vertical to 20,000ft.

Willowbank Caravan park would be the closest, it would be a longish sort of a walk, probably 4-5 km.

    Cheers, Mick.
