New Nikon D90 Where to buy?

Who's read up about the new Nikon D90? I looks awesome! I've been given the nod to get one, time to up date from the D70 (Not that there is anything wrong with that!)

So does anyone have any good suggestions as to where to buy from?

The best price I've found so far is $2268 with the 18-200 EF IF VR lens. That's from Camerasdirect.com.au

    Cheers,

    JohnR

Try Diamonds photographic in Rundle st Adelaide.
Tell them the price you got and they will beat it, I am pretty sure.
they do a lot of insurance stuff.

    Ever thought of a D200 or D300?

    Best of luck.
    I got a D70s.

Try HKSupplies.com they are good to buy from (but no Australian Warrantee) and also Photo Continental in Brisbane are competitive on price.

personally that was actually something that would put me off the D90, but thats just me

i think video should be kept to a video camera and pictures to a picture camera...you get problems when you intergrate them i think the biggest problem is quality next, i wuld thought it plays a part on the size of the unit.

still from what i have read good write ups just not my cup of tea

It's the way of the future unfortunately, just look at the specs for the new Canon 5D MkII

That's right it is the way of the future. It's a bit like saying they'll never beat 35mm or I'll stick to records, CD aren't phonicaly as good. Yes they are both true statements but you'd be trying to hold back the tide if you try and avoid a camera with video.

And who say's it's a compromise? I certainly don't think they have compromised on the still side of this camera and even if the video is just a bonus extra at 720p or 1240x720/24fps it's right up there with most of the high end pro/am video cameras!

Try it and see what you think?

    Cheers,
