Do you have 15" or 16" wheels ?
I am looking for a good AT tyre for my 98 L series Freelander. At this stage i am most likely putting on a set of toyo,s. The odd size is a problem any ideas ?

15" 195/80R15 are a pain to find in AT - good luck.
Plenty of options in 16" though - I have BFG's 225/70R16 ATs which are great just very noisy at slow speeds on the tarmac.

I have 15 inch rims which is part of the problem i think.
Genuine 16" alloy rims often come up on e-bay really cheap - so I would consider changing over as they look better and open up tyre options.

Thanks Garry , i will put a set of Toyo,s on for now and start looking for a set of 16,s for next time .Cheers
215/75 x 15. Fit with no clearance issues and give slightly more ground clearance. Cooper Discoverer ATF. 120,000 kms so far , one puncture in four years and still legal tread remaining. I'll probably get another 3-40,000 out of them.
PS it has a Kings springs 25mm lift kit.
Yeah I agree. No problems finding tyres.
215/75R15 is a good size without losing too much power while gaining a little height.
I have BF Goodrich AT's in that size, and love them.
cheers!
Thank you for your help . How much was the kit and who sold it . Any other mods worth looking at
Spring kits are around, from both Ironman and King springs AFAIK. My honest opinion is get a spacer lift such as the one SuperMono is documenting in a sticky thread. Because of the relatively short travel of freelander shocks, longer springs reduce the distance from rest to full extension a fair bit. That being said I also have a spring lift. They are often cheaper.
Mods wise? get armour. A plastic tray of any kind isnt going to protect your engine.
Cheers!
