    D3 Tires - prices

    G'day all -

Did some pricing today on tires for my D3:

Cooper LTZ 285x60x18 - $385 (not a bad price it seems)
BF Goodrich AT 265x65x18 - $599 (seems crazy)
Cooper HT Plus 265x60x18 - $310 (reasonable, but not the tire I am after)

Didnt get much excitement for the General AT2 - I am sure its not what they normally sell...

I am looking for an AT tire...

Anyone got any good prices or recomendations?

    Pirelli ATR 255/60 R18 112H XL RB, M+S $ 385

Do you want the same size as OEM ?

...... often overlooked, but give some consideration to how many mm of
tread depth on a tyre .. if 2mm is minimum useable, then 11mm has 50% more than 8mm

I know you are not in Sydney but for others looking. Alto at Artarmon have some GG ATs in stock and are offering a good price.
I found out after I had just bought some elsewhwere. so I did not want to know the price after he said it was a lot less than I paid.

General AT2 seems to be around the $400.00 mark fitted. They can be difficult to source, seems they are distributed by small operation. web site is Dynamic 4x4, Simex 4x4, Sime 4x4, General tire, Dynamic Wheels, Sime, Grabber, Extreme Trekker, Wheels
    I'm happy with my at2s

I also believe that Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S (265/60R18) are available, slightly larger than OEM.

you must keep an eye on the load and speed ratings some meet one and
not the other I have noticed.
That is all the insurance companies need if you make a claim for them not to pay.

    Hey guy's,

I have had Good Year silent amour 265/60 x 18 "kevlar reinforced” on all four corners for about 12 months. They are listed as an “All Terrain” tyre and my experience has been very positive for both on and off road use.

I fitted them last season for a trip in and around the Simpson and there is easily enough life left in them for a trip to Cape York in about 3 weeks.

The Max load rating is 1030kg’s (2271lb), tread ware = 520, Traction = A, Temp =B and maximum pressure is 45lb (300kpa), available from Good Year Auto Service for $465 (12 months ago) fitted and balanced.

    Worth a look !

    Cheers
