Hi there,
You should start by dismantling the pump from the engine block.
Clean both surfaces and dry them both from oil and others.
Place the engine pistons at the dead top point. Since the pump is driven by a camshaft if you won't be at the right place the pump will get pushed outside by the cam and no surface will be attached (for better explanation you should review the RAVE manual).
Later on apply black (heat resistance) silicon RTV both on pump surface and on the engine block side.
Don’t use too much, only a thin strip on each of the elements. Too much will loose and travel to your engine oil system.
Place all bolts (should be 5?) in place through the gasket and gently (when all is ready & set) attach the pump to the engine block.
Tight the bolts first by hand and then to the correct torque (also in RAVE).
I used also spring washers so they won't open by vibrations, never use any "lock tight" application on those bolts.
Let me know if you need a link to download the RAVE pdf file.
Have fun.
