    89 county 110 starter motor

    gday all,
been having a bad weekend with the bus, flat battery now the starter motor seems to have packed it in, but i am having a hell of a time figuring out what is wrong.
I turn the key and get nothing but a clicking noise from the fuse box,
can anyone inform me of what the problem could be and also where i can find the starter motor. cheers singnutz

What is it mate, a V8 or Isuzu. More than likely the clicking noise is the starter solenoid which usually means a flat or very low battery. Have you checked the voltage of the battery. This is the time of year that batteries die........Brian

As Dave says. If the battery is good (and it may be simply a dead battery) the problem is almost certainly an earth problem. I think all 110s earth the battery to the chassis, which means there is an earth strap between the chassis and the engine/gearbox. In my case (Isuzu) this was across the LH engine mount, and this is where the problem was, although I managed to damage the starter solenoid before finding that was the problem (low voltage at the starter means it will draw more current!).

If it is a 1989 isuzu 110 you have got to be one of the better vehicles on the planet. No vehicle manufacturer in their right mind would make a vehicle that would last this long (LJ Torana is another vehicle). The embodied energy depereciation rate would make greenies green with evnvy.

if your motor is ex army and has a mitsubishi label, your starter should have part no 8944634730.

If its a civy starter I don't know the part number. Lucas made them.

Dunno about the 89, but my 86 has a Nippon-Denso starter!
