    drinks fuel,,, no power

last week i fitted a new ecu to my td5 defender, and ever since i have it drinks fuel an has no power at all, got draged off even buy a tdi,,

im 99% sure i have the codes rite as i had taken the cover off to look the last time i put a ecu in,

the last ecu that was in there was out of a 04 td5 disco, and went very well, floged along nice,,

an idear of power loss,, the hill i go up to cum home from work ,, the last ecu i could get up allmos with out havent the foot to the floor in 4th, now i hav to get into 3rd at about halfway ,, even witha run up, so its way down,

i no that iv gone from a disco to fender ecu so it sould be a little slower , but not this much,, and the fuel consumption is way way higher, ,,

    eny idears

and yes tomb2 ima be getting one for your chips very soon

    wrong map for the setup?

have you had a sensor go duff?

have you got something stupid like an intercooler hose deciding to collapse at the same time or the waste gate sticking open just for the sake of confusing co-incedence?

did the airfilter get wet thanks to some kid sticking a hose into your snorkle?

    got any other symptoms?

compared to some of the wierdo stuff I get to see that would be a minor one...

wait till you have diff oil coming out of your airbrakes, That'll test ya every day.

Yes it might be the wrong map, if the ecu or the map you;ve installed was corrected to adapt to a problem your engine doesnt have you'll get some wonderous results. I would be more suspect of something like a dodgy connector on the ECU or a bad earth skewing the info going in.
