130 TDI HCPU mixed up tail lights

Please see attached photo of the tail lights of our recently acquired HCPU.
I think the r/h side ones are correct and the l/h ones are upside down?
How or why they got like this I have no idea, Also, the reversing lens is non original, maybe it was all that was availablle at the time. It does annoy me every time I look at it though.
I'd imagine that it is easy to reverse the order of the l/h side ones?
And also to revert to an original lens reversing light? These shouldn't cost too much should they? cheers, E.

Yes, the LH side is upside down.

The reversing light looks like the genuine one but the shiny mounting plates look to be home made as they're normally black.

Scott, is there some design rule requirement for blinkers to be above tail/stop lights ?

    Yep...definately upside down.

Blinnkers must be on top. I believe this is an ADR design rule.

I have my reverse light on the driver side as it gives better light for me when I hang my head out of the drivers window when reversing especially with a trailer.

    Cheers

Not the case I dont think. All the 90's have the blinker at the bottom as do all the full bodied 110's I believe

The entire LHS is upside down. It should be like the right, with the reversing light at the bottom.

The reversing light looks genuine. You may be getting confused with the clear round lights (as per driving lights at front)

Rubbish. They are (for most of the ones I've seen anyway, including mine) exactly that crappy metal colour.

I'm going to paint mine black though as it would look heaps better.

    Cheers
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I bought a second reverse light and put it on the other side so there's one on each side - heaps of light for reversing and cheap too. The cables were already there, just had to screw the light on and plug it in.

    My 130 is a 2004
The reverse light is round with a matching red fog light at the other side
The surrounds started off as black but the paint has washed off
